Ulvbane’s sword stands out completely from the other swords in the film, as the film makers wanted a sword that was large, heavy and powerful looking.
Ulvbane’s sword weighs almost two kilograms and demands strong arms and good technique by the person who wields it.
Edmund Ulvbane was a Dane, so sword smith Peter Johnsson turned to the National Museum in Kopenhagen for material to study. The inspiration for the design comes from a sword on display that has its roots in the 12th C.
The decorative dragon motif carving is influenced by a sword found in a womans grave in Sountaka, Finland.
Please note that the swords are as a standard sold sharp, unless otherwise requested.
