Coolus E

Coolus E

The original copied has been on display for many years at the British Museum, and is believed to have been found in the Thames in London. It was probably lost around the time of Emperor Claudius' invasion of Britain in 43 AD. The cheekpieces are taken from an example found at Kew, believed of the same date, also now housed at the British Museum. This Coolus has two side sockets for feather plumes. The original was found without the central plume socket, though traces of solder indicated it originally had one, so we duplicated one from a similar Coolus helmet. Manufactured by the Deepeeka Group (India) in 18 gauge brass. Please specify head circumference when ordering to assure closest fit.
